Fees and exchange rates
Before you pay, the review screen shows the amount you send, the fee, the exchange rate, the total you pay and exactly what your recipient receives. Once you confirm, none of it changes.

Your exact rate and any fee are shown on the review screen before you pay, and locked once you confirm.
The fee
Any transfer fee is itemized on the review screen. It depends on how you pay and where you send, and it is never taken from what your recipient receives.
The exchange rate
Our rate includes a margin, so it is not the mid-market rate you see on search engines. The fairest comparison between providers is how much your recipient gets for what you pay.
Other charges
Your card issuer, or your recipient’s bank or mobile money provider, may have charges of their own. Where we know of one, we show it before you pay.
Pricing questions
Are there fees on top of what I see?
No. The fee and exchange rate are shown on the review screen before you pay, together with the amount your recipient gets. That is the full cost of the transfer.
Why does the rate on this page change?
Exchange rates move during the day. This page shows the rate we are quoting now; the rate for your transfer is the one shown when you review it, and it is locked once you confirm.
Does my recipient pay anything?
SonghaiPay does not charge your recipient. Their bank or mobile money provider may have its own charges for using their account.
How does SonghaiPay make money?
From the transfer fee where one applies, and from the difference between the rate we get and the rate we quote you. Both are already included in what you see before you pay.
