Mobile money
Paid straight into your recipient’s mobile money wallet, in most of the countries we send to. It usually arrives within minutes.
Bank deposit
Paid into your recipient’s bank account. Most deposits arrive within minutes; some can take up to one business day.
What you need
- A SonghaiPay account, with your ID verified once (photo ID and a selfie)
- A debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay
- Your recipient’s full name, as it appears on their account
- Their bank account details or mobile money number
- Your 4-digit SonghaiPay PIN to confirm the transfer

What do I need to send money?
A SonghaiPay account with your ID verified, a card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and your recipient's full name and either their bank account or their mobile money number. The name must match the account they are being paid into.
How long does a transfer take?
Most transfers arrive within minutes. Some bank deposits can take up to one business day.
Is the exchange rate locked?
The rate and fee are shown before you pay and are held for a short time while you review. Once you confirm, they do not change for that transfer.
How do I track a transfer?
In your account under Activity. Each transfer has a reference starting with RT; quote it if you contact support.
What if I entered the wrong details?
Contact support straight away with your RT reference. If the money has not been paid out yet, our team can check what can be done.
Is there a limit on how much I can send?
Yes. Limits depend on your account and verification, and are shown in your account and on the send screen.
